About Vincent Papequash

My name is Vincent Papequash. I am a Canadian writer and former broadcast journalist writing about incarceration, release, and the experience of rebuilding.

You may have seen the news articles written about me, before finding the ones written by me.

I believe strongly in justice, and this country’s legal process. I never believed that I should hide from it. Which is why I created this site, because I believe that there is no going back. There is only forward.

I was born in Edmonton, AB, and grew up there. I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2011 before moving back. Then I moved to Toronto, ON in 2016 to study acting. I have been acting since 2001, on and off throughout the years.

I studied television production at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, a program that focuses on news production. I never wanted to be a famous journalist, but I knew if I ever did go into journalism I would want to work for the CBC.

In 2022 I was hired to work at CBC Vancouver, where I chased news stories, interviewed people, wrote television and radio scripts, and news articles, and reported. Then, I was charged in a criminal case that ended my employment and led to incarceration.

I hope this website will do several things, none of which are to hide what happened. Life only moves forward, so I hope that I can somehow go along with that current.
